The 100 - What Annoys Me

I finished watching this week's episode of The 100 a little bit ago and once again, I found myself questioning the time frame of the whole damned show.  In the whole scheme of things, I just sort of lay my own time frame over the action and I can watch it without too much puzzling.

See, here's the thing.  Premise #1 is that the earth has been devastated by a nuclear type storm, supposedly annhilating all life and rendering it unlivable for another 100 years.  Yet... YET... we have life on the planet surface my friends!  Societies, rather primitive, yes... with a ton of customs, some of which hold whispers of customs we would know and they have all new languages with a few familiar words.  I'm not an anthropologist or whatever scientist would study these types of things, but 100 years and such a huge, huge change?  I can't buy it.

Premise #2 - after tonight's show where we learn that it's been 5 1/2 months since the 100 kids were sent down to the planet.  They've sure had a helluva lot of adventures in that time.  And then there's Octavia, who may have been the one paying the most attention in 'survival class' back on the ark, who is now Miss Jungle Survival thanks to her time with Lincoln and his people.  Let's call that happening in 5 months.  Again... having a hard time buying it.  And Clarke becoming so hunting proficient in that same length of time?  It all happens too fast.  Too damned fast.

There are, of course, other little niggling timing things that make me scratch my head, but these are the two biggies.

Time frame's not the only thing that bugs me, BTW.  Clarke's latest outfit bugs me. I call it her Wawanesa outfit.  It does her no favours at all, I don't even think it looks cool. I think it looks like something made to hide a pregnancy.  Is the actress pregnant in real life?  *pause to check google*  Couldn't find anything.  I still say her face has taken on that gentle roundness pregnant women get and then... that awful outfit.  I looked, but couldn't find even one full length pic.

Anyway, for all that, I enjoy the show.  And for a change?  Nobody important died tonight.  :)

Ponderations

Oh, my good intentions.  *LOL*  I really wish I could get better at this blogging thing, but all I can do is keep trying and trying.  Hopefully I will get better at it as time passes.

Today was Publicsac Day here at the house.  The day when all the weekly flyers get delivered to the houses along the street.  The drop-off for the blocks' bags is right next door, so for a good two hours in the morning, the dog barks like a crazy fool, going off every few minutes.  Makes me crazy.

I was thinking back to many many years ago this morning as I made my coffee.  Do any of you remember "Miles For Millions"?  I think it was the first ever walkathon - I'm thinking that it was back in 1968 or 1969 that I did it because I'm pretty sure I was in grade 7.  We walked 28 miles that day.  I had a whole bunch of sponsors, and I'll always remember my Uncle George who sponsored me for $1 a mile thinking that I'd only do 2 or 3 miles... HAH!!  I did all 28!    I found an article on it... Sole Power .    We did other walkathon types of fundraising throughout my high-school years, but never something on this scale.  My feet were a disaster at the end.  *LOL*

Anyway, those were a couple of the things that struck me today.  Exciting, I know, but I'm trying!  *LOL*  Baby steps.
