Beyond Solitude by Kit Rocha - My Thoughts

Beyond Solitude is #4.5 in the Beyond series by Kit Rocha and I can't tell you how much I love these books.  Dystopian erotic romance with kinky overtones.  Yum, yum, yum!!   This one is a novella and DAMN, I wish it was a full blown novel!   It wasn't my plan to read it right now, but events happened and I did.  *LOL*

Noble Metals by L.A.Witt - My Thoughts

Anyway... I finally was able to obtain and read Noble Metals by L.A. Witt, something I had been looking forward to for a while.  I didn't quite get what I was expecting or hoping for.  :(

I've been lucky.  I haven't read a bad book in a very long time.  That changed this week.  I think I'm still shell-shocked over this one.  I had expected something much better.  The cover is great though.

American Craftsmen by Tom Doyle - My Thoughts

A new contemporary fantasy author, an intriguing premise that pings all my Tom Clancy, Strike Back, buddy stories buttons and I thought I'd devour it.  Not quite.  It was a bit of a disappointment for me, but I AM glad that I read it.

Bound to be a Groom by Megan Mulry - My Thoughts

A Review - The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook

Steampunk.  I had never read steampunk before, despite being intrigued over the past few years.  I'm glad I broke my cherry, so to speak, on this one.  The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook was just delightful!  I really couldn't put it down.  Terrific world-building and character creation!  Really, if you're at least interested in the genre and enjoy sexy romances, try this one!  It's got it all in spades.  :)

Black Dog by Cat Grant - A Review

My friend H, (also known as the author Zoe X. Rider) recced me this book and it finally came up in my TBR pile.  It's really a novella, so, it went rather quickly - plus I enjoyed it.

A Review - Iron & Velvet by Alexis Hall

I gobbled this one up, I have to admit.  It was a lot of fun.  This is one of those books that I found myself wanting to cast for TV.  :)   I've not come up with a definitive list, but it's sure fun to speculate.  And the cover art is FABULOUS!

A Review - A Case of Possession by KJ Charles

I thought I'd get another post or two in before another book post, but it appears not.  *LOL*  I just finished book 2 in the A Charm of Magpies series of m/m Victorian alternate universe mysteries. I love these books, and KJ has become one of my preferred authors in the m/m genre.

A Review - A Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan

This is the second half of this book called Avempartha.  This volume is really 2 books in one, volumes 1 & 2 of the Riyria Revelations.  I had read the first book back in the fall of last year.  It's a return to the fantasy genre and I quite liked it.  Enough to add the rest of the books in the series to my 'to acquire' list.   And yes, of course I want to slash the main characters.  *LOL*

A Review - Beyond Jealousy by Kit Rocha

I was so looking forward to this book.  Ace's story!  Woot!  It didn't disappoint.  Ace is my favourite character from the Beyond series, hands down.  And you know, I love Kit Rocha books; they are so unapologetically sexy, hot, fun, down and dirty, and fantasy-filled and WAY healthier than that shady book series.

A Review - Ball & Chain by Abigail Roux

This is the 8th installment in the "Cut & Run" series by Abigail Roux and it doesn't disappoint.  (Let me just say that pre-orders from Riptide Publishing are the BEES KNEES!)  Abi was one of the first m/m authors I ever read and that was back.. ohhhh... 6 years ago?  And she's still a favourite.

A Review - Free Falling by S.E. Jakes

I've finished another.  *LOL*  This is a novella, only about 150 pages, so last night and today was enough - good thing because I couldn't put it down.  :)  I love S.E. Jakes' Extreme Escapes Ltd. mercenary tales and this one was no exception.

A Review - Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig

I couldn't put this book down and it's so, so far from my normal reading material.  Ev doesn't do horror type books, especially ones that seem to be written in a clever, modern 21st-century fashion.  But read it I did and by God, I ended up fascinated and enthralled!

I'd heard a lot of good things about this book and this series, but for some reason I took my own sweet time before trying it out.  It was worth the wait!  :)  I really, really enjoyed it and now have ANOTHER author that's going to be an automatic buy.  *LOL*

So yeah, I read another book.  :)  This one is the first published book (I think) of an author I've come to really enjoy.  A decent read.

A Review - A Week to Be Wicked by Tessa Dare

I truly couldn't put it down.  I had so many things I should have done, so many things I'd planned to do over the past couple of days, but I really couldn't put this book down.  It was a really fun read and I thank Heidi Cullinan and Bree Bridges for recommending it to me.  :)

I read another book!  I know, big news, eh?  Anyway, I read Magpie by Kim Dare and absolutely loved it. There's a 3rd book in the series coming out, this summer, I think, maybe the fall, and I can't wait!

A Review - Hooch & Cake by Heidi Cullinan

Heidi gifted her readers with the best thing ever - a freebie starring Randy, Mitch and Sam of the Special Delivery series.  Best. Gift. Ever!  :)  Heidi is indeed one of my favourites, as many of you know, and this series is also one of my favourites.  The story is nestled between Special Delivery and Double Blind and one should really read SD first to get the backstory and lay of the land, but it can also be read on its own because Heidi is a good enough writer that we know all we really need to know to enjoy.  :)

A Review - Left on St. Truth-be-Well by Amy Lane

Amy Lane is one of my favourite M/M romance authors and she doesn't disappoint with my latest read of hers.  It's less angsty than Amy's usual fare, but it's fun and I totally enjoyed it.  Love the location too, reminded me of many a vacation.  :)
